Come back for one more year. This is now a Datsyuk gif/video thread, post all the sick Datsyuk dangles.
I’ve got it, I’ve got it.... I don’t got it.

Always one of my favorite players. What a legend. This one is also one of the best dekes you’ll ever see.

A few years ago I made it to a Wings game and got to see him live. When he hit the ice you watched him, not the play because he was going to do something amazing. With or without the puck it was amazing to watch him. His ability to strip the puck is just incredible. A lot of guys can stick handle, but I’ve never seen anyone as good at stealing the puck from people. He is flat out the most exciting hockey player I’ve ever seen live.

You know it’s pretty amazing that this guy has been so good for so long and no one has ever really said anything negative about him.
On ice or off, he’s never had a “story” that was negative or bad.
I’m going to sincerely miss Datsyuk.

He will be missed thats for sure. Always fun to watch him. There was a very good interview/article about him recently in the Detroit Free Press by Mitch Albom. Helps explain why he will be leaving, and what he has been through in the past couple years.

Hockey players are generally pretty low key and down to earth guys and it is pretty rare to see any of them in the news for off ice transgressions. Even the guys that are complete a—holes on the ice seem to be pretty decent guys away from the rink. Like anything there are some that get into trouble but it seems to be a lot rarer than other public figures.
